There were a further 3 winners this week for the McGuinness Team as Stellify, Ablah and Highly Approved all obliged for delighted connections. Stellify got the ball rolling on Monday in the mile and a half handicap at the Curragh and finished strongly to win well at the line under a strong ride from Sam Ewing. She is owned and bred by the We’re Back Syndicate and Ado commented afterwards, “She deserved that and has been ultra consistent on her last few starts. Sam gave her a great ride and he is excellent value for his 7 pound claim”.
Highly Approved and Ablah completed another double for the stable at Dundalk on Wednesday and Highly Approved got up in the dying strides to claim victory in a tight photo finish where 4 of them had a chance of winning. She has been another very consistent filly throughout the season and won a handicap around Leopardstown a few months ago for the Forde and Brennan families. Ado stated, “We had luck on our side there and it’s great to win another race with her. 7 furlongs is her ideal trip and she really thrives on a sound surface especially the polytrack here at Dundalk”.
Ablah was also not winning out of turn and won the nursery handicap over 6 furlongs in good style under Gavin Ryan. She is owned by Phoenix Thoroughbreds and this was a first victory for the daughter of Air Force Blue. She clearly enjoyed the surface and Ado commented afterwards, “She is a top of the ground filly and again she really enjoys this surface. I think 6 furlongs is her best trip and I hope she can win another one up here in the coming weeks. She’s improving all the time”.
