Bader Ginsburg shed her maiden tag on her 12th attempt by winning the Molson Coors Beverage Company Handicap under apprentice Cian McRedmond on Friday evening in Down Royal.

The 3yo Elzaam filly was held up in rear early on before Cian made his move just over 2 furlongs out where he picked up well to lead into the final furlong to win by 2 lengths from the James Barrett-trained Queen Amanirenas.

Speaking afterwards, Ado said “She stayed on to win. She ran a nice race from a bad draw in Killarney last week. Con Kennedy, a local vet, and his wife own and bred her and we are just loving getting a win for the mare. She might not be speedy but she is all heart. Cian was very cool on her because they went very fast and he was a long way off them but he didn’t panic.
