Current Option continued his rise through the ranks and progression at Tipperary last Saturday in the Group 3 Coolmore US Navy Flag Concorde Stakes over 7 furlongs. The good looking son of Camelot broke smartly and was ridden positively by in-form jockey Gavin Ryan. The Gerry Keane trained Laughifyouwant kicked on early in the straight but Gavin always looked in control of the race and got Current Option up on the line to win by a short head at the line.

It was another memorable and milestone result for owners Dooley Thoroughbreds, Shamrock Thoroughbreds and B T O’Sullivan who were also achieving their first Group winner.

It was a thrilling finish and Ado commented afterwards, “This was the plan for some time and Gavin was excellent on him and gave him a very straightforward ride. This horse is progressing very nicely and I am looking forward to next season with him. There is the possibility of Dubai for him but we will sit back and have a think first. He is very ground versatile, in fact he is probably more effective on better ground. It has been an amazing season and 2020 will live long in the memory for many reasons. Hats off to the Team at home who work so hard for big days like this”.

Current Option was purchased by Shamrock Thoroughbreds at the July Horses in Training sale in 2019 from the William Haggas stable and Stephen Thorne reflected, “He has progressed the whole way through and I think he is capable of a lot more next season. He will keep us all warm this winter!”.
