Following Bowerman’s success earlier under Ronan Whelan to win the Group 2 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup in Doha on February 19th last, it was back to normal Friday evening action under lights at Dundalk.
Betrayed broke her maiden tag at her seventh attempt to win the Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk H´cap for 3yo under Colin Keane. Ridden prominently throughout, the Lethal Force filly got her head up close home to win by half a length. “She was unlucky not to win before now and we thought she was capable of winning a maiden. Hopefully she can win a couple of three-year-old handicaps. Six is a better trip and I’m delighted for Gary Devlin who owns her in partnership with Ado’s wife Hazel.” said assistant trainer Stephen Thorne.
Thrumps Dream made it 3 on the day for the team to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden under Chris Hayes. Ridden in mid-division, the Dark Angel filly made her challenge close home to win by 1 1/4 lengths. “We think quite a bit of this filly so she could compete in Stakes company at some stage during the summer. We might put her away and give her a little break.” said assistant trainer Stephen Thorne.
