Raphael and Pure Nature combined on Friday evening at Dundalk to provide the Team with a fine double.
Raphael was given a superb front running ride by Champion Apprentice seeking Gavin Ryan and was not for catching in the home straight with stable companion War Hero chasing him home in second. It was a first win on the polytrack for the 5yo son of Roderic O’Connor and he could have a busy few months ahead of him during the Winter Series after being very lightly campaigned during the summer months.
Raphael was purchased at the Goffs UK sales in 2019 by Shamrock Thoroughbreds.
“I am delighted for Dooley Thoroughbreds and they have been very patient with this horse as he needs very fast ground to be seen at his best. Gavin was excellent on him and we will plan something similar in a few weeks time”, commended a delighted trainer Ado McGuinness.
Pure Nature provided the Team with a double on the night in the lucky last and this time Adam Farragher put his experience to good use by opting to hold up the Dansili filly and wait for a run in the straight. She picked up very strongly and stayed on well over the 12 furlong distance and she is a filly who is improving rapidly. “I’m delighted for Phoenix Thoroughbreds and she is a filly who is progressing with every run. We will look to step her up again in grade in a few weeks time”, commented Ado.
