Skontonovski landed his seventh career success (5th on the polytrack) in Dundalk last Tuesday when winning Division Two of the Bar One Racing Guaranteed Multiples All Shops Handicap under Ronan Whelan.
The Harbour Watch gelding broke nicely from a wide draw under Ronan who sent him on to track early leaders Ferrybank and The Bog Bank. Ronan then asked for an effort 2 furlongs out where produced his challenge at the furlong marker to take the lead and to go on to win by a length and a quarter from Ferrybank.
Speaking afterwards, Ado said, “He has been running solid away there all year and he wanted a bit of good ground, and we hadn’t been getting it the last six weeks.
Ronan was class on him there today, he was drawn 13. The pace is not breaking down today, they are being there all the way. The top three were there all the way”.
