Bowerman overcame a wide draw under Ronan Whelan to win the Group 2 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup worth $200,000 in Doha on February 19th last.
“I thought he’d run a massive race and he did, but he had plenty against him. He had to do all the travelling and was drawn out wide on a tight track, so it’s great for everybody involved. We felt he was the class horse in the race, so we had to go and we got proved right.” said Ado McGuinness.
A €38,000 purchase from Tattersalls in July 2019, the 7yo Dutch Art gelding completed his 6th success for trainer Ado McGuinness and owners Total Recall Racing Club & will be aimed at major races over a mile in Europe this season having already Group Three win in the locker from last season. “We could think about the Tattersalls Gold Cup but I think a fast-run mile really suits him.”
