Maar, having just her second run, landed the Fillies Maiden in Dundalk in impressive fashion in the hands of Ronan Whelan for Phoenix Thoroughbred Ltd..

The Kingman filly ran prominently from the get go and went clear in the final furlong to win comfortably by 2 & 1/4 lengths from market leader Umneyaat.

Speaking afterwards, Ado said that “She was an immature filly last year and we just took our time with her. She’s a stakes filly and she could be an Oaks filly in the making. We’ll definitely go for a trial now and look for some black-type for her”.
