Star Harbour claimed his 2nd turf win in impressive fashion in Killarney this evening by winning the Castleisland Rated Race for owners Phoenix Thoroughbreds under champion jockey Colin Keane.
Ridden prominently throughout, the gelded son of Sea The Stars hit the front at the 2 furlong pole to win going away from the Andrew Slattery trained Rebel Tale to win by a length and a half.
Ado stated afterwards, “It was a top class ride by Colin. We entered him this morning in the Galway Mile but 3yos don’t have a great record in it but that’ll be probably where he’ll go next.
He didn’t stay the last day at Down Royal in the Ulster Derby and we put the visor on him to sharpen him up as he is very laid-back and lazy at home. He has loads of ability and is a smashing horse and I think he’ll go on and improve again”.
