War Hero gained his second win of 2020 and first for new owner Mark Devlin in the 0-80 7 furlong handicap at Dundalk on Wednesday. The gelded son of Declaration of War held a prominent position from a low draw throughout and came with a double handful 2 furlongs out. The confident rider shook up his mount at the furlong pole and the response was immediate and quickened away to win well at the line.
Ado commented afterwards, “He was overdue a win and the 7 pound claim helped his cause. Cian was excellent on him and we will now take aim at a feature race in December with him. I think 7 furlongs is his optimum but he is versatile trip wise”.
